Core Value
He believed that everyone should be equal. He believed that just because the color of your skin might be different from other people does not mean you should be treated differently. He showed others that everyone is equal, no matter what how they look, what color their skin is, how they talk, how they walk, etc.
Why he decided to show Moral Courage
Martin decided to show Moral Courage because there was a lot of violence and protesting going on with the African Americans and their rights. The white people thought they had more rights than the African American's. They would create seperate schools, bathrooms, playgrounds, restuarants, etc. Martin wanted to make a change in this. He did not want the African American's to be treated with any more disrepect just because of their skin color. He then made a change, he was involved in the Civil Rights Movement, he knew what could happen to him. He knew that he could recieve death threats and be threatened but he wanted to make a change in life, he had a lot of courage to do this. The African American people of the world influenced Martin Luther King Jr., they showed him how much they did not like the new laws. So, he decided to make a change.
